About Relevant — A Modern Model for Law Firms

Relevant Management Services is a nonlegal management-services organization providing defined administrative and back-office support to independent law firms.

A New Operational Standard for the Modern Law Firm

Relevant Management Services was founded to solve the core tension in legal practice: attorneys want to practice law, but running a growing firm requires running a complex business.

A proven model, built for law. Relevant applies a management-services model that lets lawyers focus on practicing law while RMS provides defined branding, technology, and nonlegal administrative infrastructure to independently owned firms. The management-services model is well established across other professions. Dentistry has Aspen Dental. Optometry has MyEyeDr. Medicine and veterinary care have followed the same path: separate the business operations from the professional practice, so each can be run by people who do it best. Relevant brings that proven separation to law.

The MSO Model. Relevant Management Services (RMS) is a nonlegal management-services organization. RMS may provide branding, technology, recruiting support, administrative operations, and back-office services. RMS does not provide legal services; control professional judgment, client acceptance, conflicts, fees, legal staffing, supervision, trust functions, strategy, or legal judgment; receive, hold, or control client funds; or share legal fees or outcomes. Each attorney-owned firm retains complete control of its own operations, professional judgment, client acceptance, conflicts, fees, legal staffing and supervision, trust functions, strategy, and legal decisions.
