Legal MSO Editorial Standards and Corrections
RMS publishes educational material about a market in which it participates. That commercial interest is disclosed so readers can evaluate the work in context.
Source hierarchy: primary sources include enacted statutes, official bill histories, court rules and orders, ethics opinions, regulations, and regulator materials. Secondary sources may explain a source or market development but do not replace governing authority.
Claim types: each resource should distinguish what an authority says, what a secondary source reports, how RMS describes its own operations, and what remains jurisdiction- or fact-specific.
Dates and status: time-sensitive propositions carry a checked or modified date. A pending bill is not described as law. Model rules are identified as models, and adopted jurisdictional rules control.
Authorship and review: resources use organization-level authorship. RMS does not imply that outside counsel or another institution reviewed or endorsed a resource unless that review is documented and attributable.
Corrections: readers may send a primary source and the challenged passage through the RMS contact page. RMS will evaluate the source, correct material errors, and update the modified date. Prior wording is not silently preserved as current authority.
